Abstract
The number of titles and volumes of works by A. S. Pushkin in city libraries of Siberia during the late imperial period is counted. A. S. Pushkin’s place in the ratings of writers made by the author of the article on a basis of book borrowings in the libraries of Siberian cities at the beginning of the XX century is defined. The demand for works by A. S. Pushkin in Siberians’ reading during the pre-revolutionary period is revealed. The attitude of regional residents towards his works at the end of the XX – the beginning of the XXI century is analyzed.

Abstract

The results of the analysis of the documentary – information approach heuristic potential in the study of modern library are presented. The modern library documentary- information form  of organizing information process is modelled. The differences between it and proto- documentary and post-documentary forms of information process are indicated. Attention is focused on the library as a social institution that maintains the necessary level of confidence in the information it provides.

Abstract
The concept of lean production, the history of its creation, philosophy, main principles and tools are presented. Today technologies of lean production have become an essential part of manufacturing systems of many companies all over the world, including the sphere of health care and culture. Projects, implemented in libraries with the help  of lean technologies, are aimed at optimization  of some particular operations or technological processes, quality and terms of users servicing, elimination of problem segments in library activities.

Abstract

The article describes technological approaches used to create distributed information systems supporting scientific research. Architectural solutions intended to create such systems and principles for integrating these systems with external sources are considered. Functional requirements for the model of scientific information system (SIS), conditioned, firstly, by the researchers’ information needs, and secondly, by the necessity to ensure a reliable and longterm storage of information, are determined. Rules for presenting and transforming metadata are examined.

Abstract

The author examines quantitative and qualitative indicators of the external traffic from social networks to the website of SPSTL SB RAS Division. Based on the developed methodology for evaluating data from web analytics systems, conclusions about the significance of the considered social networks and the admissibility of promoting the resources of SPSL SB RAS Division into them are made.

Abstract
Information technologies development has led to intensification of distant information exchange, sharp increase in the speed of data retrieval, storage and processing of large amounts of information. At the same time, just these opportunities gave rise to such problems as unauthorized access to information resources, threat to the library resources security, need to ensure the users’ personal information protection. Extension in the volume and value of information scientific- technical and educational resources leads to an increase in the threats of unauthorized access to them. This requires the creation of reliable means of protecting information sources.

Abstract
At present, in the formation and implementation  of a national scientific policy, public authorities use information on the personnel potential of the domestic research and development sector, obtained through state statistics. In the article we systematize and show by examples main shortcomings of such  a source of information. Use of scientometric methods of assessment of research staff capacity  and efficiency, based on actual data on the research performance of individual scientists, entire organizations, and regions is recommended in order to arrive at a more objective picture of the scientific landscape.
